An Elephant in the Porcelain Cabinet’ is a stop-motion and 2D animated short film about damage and how we deal with it, visualized through a fragile space that receives a clumsy visitor. It is an exploration by the creator into material, technique, and learning to open up.
Bonne Steinz (she/they) is an autonomous artist and animation director focused on illustration, traditional 2D & Stop-Motion animation, puppets and miniature builds. Through playful and imaginative visuals Bonne likes to tell personal stories on self-growth, mental health and identity to provoke a nostalgic hunger that feeds the inner child.

The Animated Gems program series shines a spotlight on exceptional animated films! Our guest programmer, Riccardo Canciello, has curated a selection of some of the best animated films of the past year. Each feature will be preceded by a short from a local animator.
Riccardo Canciello is a lecturer, film programmer, and animation producer based in Rotterdam. Although he loves everything related to cinema, animation holds a special place in his heart. Through his work, he aims to create more connections between makers and their audiences, especially at the local level.
