The ones you might have missed! We love to see how many more animated films have been in the limelight recently, beyond the usual Hollywood studios, and yet there are still so many amazing animations that deserve just as much attention!
Guest programmer Riccardo Canciello has put together some of the best animated films from last year that you probably haven’t seen: either because of a limited release or because they never screened in the Netherlands before!

About the film
Olivia, haunted by a past love, hides it under her bed. She trades flowers with this ghost in exchange for comforting rain clouds. Barbara, rejected by Mauricio, escapes reality through fantastical stories. Mauricio, full of regrets, is swallowed by the earth. Riccardo Canciello is a teacher, film programmer and animation producer based in Rotterdam. While he loves everything cinema, animation has a special place in his heart and his work aims at creating more connections between creators and all audiences, particularly at a local level.
